Weekly Wishlist: 4th Edition

Welcome to my newest weekly installment: Weekly Wishlist. This is where I’ll share a few items that I’ve either purchased, am adding to my shopping list or am just crushing on from afar.

I am freaking out over M·A·C’s Fashion Sets. They’re seriously killing me. One of my favorite trends is to match your nails to your lips (it’s so sexy, no?), but it’s often so hard to find the perfect “pair.” Enter these sets, that include Lip Glass, Nail Lacquer and Lipstick. Top of my list is Myth. But you definitely can’t go wrong with the Russian Red set (here, here and here).

Next on my wishlist is this Denim Anorak from Nasty Gal. It’s been raining like crazy in Binghamton, and it’s getting boring to see cargo anoraks and trench coats. This denim version is totally unique and for under $100, the perfect jacket investment for this spring time weather.

Speaking of weather, now that I’m a mere three weeks from my summer internship, I’m on the hunt for bottoms that are both work and summer appropriate. These shorts from Topshop may be one of my favorites that I’ve spotted. Sophisticated, structured, and short without being slutty. Sold.

I’ve also been continuously hunting for chic flats/sandals. I have a penchant for gold and brown once the sun is out, so these Dolce Vita sandals are screaming my name.

More on gold… well, fool’s gold that is… How funky/unique/cool is this CC Skye ring, while being totally everyday-wearable?

If you’re pining for a new pair of sunniest like I am, but don’t want to drop the big bucks on a pair of Ray Bans or Karen Walker or Warby Parker (by “don’t want,” I mean, “can’t currently afford to spend that much on plastic/metal, no matter how gorg”), ASOS is the place to check. Anything big, cat eyed and retro is so perfect for summer, like the pair pictured or these leopard cat eye pair.

And finally, how can you say no to an orange clutch with to-die-for stitching for less than $60? All white outfit, brown wedges, and said clutch? Perfect. Thanks, Steve Madden.

Weekly Wishlist: 1st Edition

Welcome to my newest weekly installment: Weekly Wishlist. This is where I’ll share a few items that I’ve either purchased, am adding to my shopping list or am just crushing on from afar.

After getting a serious taste of summer this past week (the weather was in the 70s and sunny nearly everyday… I have the tan 3rd degree burn to prove it), I’ve been crushing on every pair of shorts that I’ve come across. The two I’m craving most though? MINK PINK’s Slasher Short ($78) and RUNWAYDREAMZ Leopard Studded Shorts ($198)

Speaking of summer… If you follow me on Twitter, you may already know that I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect mint colored jeans. This pair from J Brand has been calling my name, but I refuse to pay the big bucks for something I know I can get cheaper. Enter the above Go Jane ($28) pair.

Moving on from shorts & pastels… now that I finally found a great pair of metallic shoes, I’m dying over all things heavy metal. Today’s obsession? Incase’s Chrome iPhone Case ($35).

My serious relationship with BB Cream is official, but it’s making me want to rekindle my flame with tinted moisturizers across the board, just in time for summer. I’m dying to try NARS’s ($42) take on this beauty essential.

Since spring is in the air, I’m going to need a neutral shoe, since 99% of my pairs are black, chunky and not summer appropriate. I’m thinking about these python Steve Madden’s ($110), since the color is perfect, and the texture will jazz up any boring ensemble.

And now for my most wanted item on this Weekly Wishlist: Tom Ford’s Nikita Sunglasses. The perfect cat-eye glasses for only… $360. A girl can dream, right?

The Case For The Crop Top

I am no skinny mini.

Taco Bell is my guilty pleasure, and forgive me, but I just can’t say no to a Slutty Brownie (or any brownie… or any baked good, for that matter).

So, when you say “tight crop top,” I say, “save it for the runway.”

But that attitude is long gone.

I impulsively purchased this top for under $5 from Forever 21, and told myself that it’d only be wearable when I lost that extra 10 pounds by summer (psh).

But, I recently realized that it’s the perfect basic to pair with all of my high waisted items.

Throw it on with high waisted shorts, skirts, and pants to avoid tucking in a tank top and to up your sexy factor with a discreet sliver of skin. Throw on a blazer, jean jacket or a cardi if you’re trying to keep it tame.

Here’s an effortless way to rock this look with pieces you may already own:

  1. Blazer – $58
  2. Crop Top – $4.90
  3. Shoes – $44
  4. Necklace – $24
  5. Shorts – $77
