Weekly Wishlist: 4th Edition

Welcome to my newest weekly installment: Weekly Wishlist. This is where I’ll share a few items that I’ve either purchased, am adding to my shopping list or am just crushing on from afar.

I am freaking out over M·A·C’s Fashion Sets. They’re seriously killing me. One of my favorite trends is to match your nails to your lips (it’s so sexy, no?), but it’s often so hard to find the perfect “pair.” Enter these sets, that include Lip Glass, Nail Lacquer and Lipstick. Top of my list is Myth. But you definitely can’t go wrong with the Russian Red set (here, here and here).

Next on my wishlist is this Denim Anorak from Nasty Gal. It’s been raining like crazy in Binghamton, and it’s getting boring to see cargo anoraks and trench coats. This denim version is totally unique and for under $100, the perfect jacket investment for this spring time weather.

Speaking of weather, now that I’m a mere three weeks from my summer internship, I’m on the hunt for bottoms that are both work and summer appropriate. These shorts from Topshop may be one of my favorites that I’ve spotted. Sophisticated, structured, and short without being slutty. Sold.

I’ve also been continuously hunting for chic flats/sandals. I have a penchant for gold and brown once the sun is out, so these Dolce Vita sandals are screaming my name.

More on gold… well, fool’s gold that is… How funky/unique/cool is this CC Skye ring, while being totally everyday-wearable?

If you’re pining for a new pair of sunniest like I am, but don’t want to drop the big bucks on a pair of Ray Bans or Karen Walker or Warby Parker (by “don’t want,” I mean, “can’t currently afford to spend that much on plastic/metal, no matter how gorg”), ASOS is the place to check. Anything big, cat eyed and retro is so perfect for summer, like the pair pictured or these leopard cat eye pair.

And finally, how can you say no to an orange clutch with to-die-for stitching for less than $60? All white outfit, brown wedges, and said clutch? Perfect. Thanks, Steve Madden.

Weekly Wishlist: 3rd Edition

Welcome to my newest weekly installment: Weekly Wishlist. This is where I’ll share a few items that I’ve either purchased, am adding to my shopping list or am just crushing on from afar.

Is it just me, or are this spring/summer’s fashion and beauty items on a whole new level of perfection? Maybe it’s the economy, but it seems to me that even the more trendy items (namely, neons) seem like they could be around for more than just one season?

When it comes to neons/brights, I’m all about the accessories. Who needs a bright “look-at-me” shirt when you can strategically brighten any outfit with, say, these Neon Yellow Vans ($45), or perhaps pair your oversized gold watch with this Marc by Marc Jacobs Rubber Turnlock Bracelet for $28. Designer for under $30, without a Target collaboration? You sold me, Marc.

Scared of brightly colored accessories? You can still go bright with white. Have you seen Alexander Wang’s white everything (shoes and bag specifically)? White is back in a big way. Unfortunately, I don’t have a big fortune to spend on those perfect white leather accessories. Enter: The Saltwater Sandal by Hoy Shoes ($38).

My white obsession continues with Sabine’s Piano Key Necklace ($24). It’s the statement piece that can either be the star of your outfit, or be subtle enough to be paired with a stack of gold chain bracelets.

So, as you can see, I’m all about the accessories for spring/summer. In fact, if I could, all I’d wear this summer are my DIY cut-offs, white/striped tees, and denim button-ups, like this one from Cabela ($40). Well, to be honest, that’s all I’ve been wearing lately (check out my Instagram/TwitPics if ya don’t believe me).

Finally, the basic I can’t wait to get my hands on is MAC Lipstick in Shy Girl ($14.50). Perfectly peachy. I’m imagining it with some serious liquid liner for a quick and fresh spring look.

Real or Steal: Lita Edition

Jeffrey Campbell has made “Lita” one of the most popular girl names of 2011.

While I’d be more apt to drop $160 on a basic Lita (like this black pair) that I’d match with anything, or one so intricate that it’s highly unlikely that they’ll be copied for cheap (like this studded pair), some patterns are just too trendy to bother wasting money on.

Case and point: American flag Litas. Sure, they’re cool and could totally work for 4th of July or just even with a pair of jeans and a white tee, at the end of the day, they’ll probably be closer to the back of your closet than the front.

That’s why I flipped when I saw that Necessary Clothing had copied this pair for only $45.

While their “Necessary Lita” comes in an array of colors, the Red, White and Blue pair is a dead ringer for the Jeffrey Campbell ones, so when your feet no longer feel so patriotic, you won’t feel so guilty.

What do you think of Litas? Love them, or hate them? Would you rather splurge on them or save? Let us know in a comment!
