Heart Graffiti & The 15 Minute Goddess Behind It

When I was contacted by Heart Graffiti a few months ago, I was immediately blown away by their jewelry selection and knew I needed to let the world know about their gorgeous pieces. But what I was even more blown away by was the face behind the company, Sara Jones.

She’s taken her jewelry company beyond your average jewelry selection to a completely unique brand by introducing stylish class jewelry along with her other collections. No, we’re not talking manly class rings with giant jewels and your graduation year. We’re talking sleek, elegant, playful jewelry that makes a statement while showing off your school pride. Heart Graffiti’s Ecole collection takes school spirit beyond sweatshirts and t-shirts. The collection is a lasting way to remember your college experiences.

When I found out I had a chance to interview Sara to get to know her and the company better, I was ecstatic. She’s not only a business woman with a great eye for silver, she’s the epitome of a 15 Minute Goddess as well. Sara has combined her love of art, business and jewelry into a fabulous line.

Here are some fun facts about Sara and Heart Graffiti:

  • Sara attended the University of Michigan, which is why the first set in the Ecole collection is dedicated to this school. The next line will be dedicated to Michigan State. Want your school to be next? Let the Heart Graffiti team via Facebook!
  • The name “Heart Graffiti” came from a heart Sara saw sprayed in (you guessed it) graffiti on a wall in Lima, Peru
  • If Sara could style an outfit around any piece from Heart Graffiti, she would pair the Orchid Necklace with Grace Kelly’s dress in this ad.

After falling in love with the entire brand (especially the class jewelry, but unfortunately Binghamton isn’t an option yet!), I was lucky enough to receive my own Chrysanthemum ring.

This ring is so versatile and gorgeous. So far, I’ve worn it to formal events, nights out at school, and even to class. The detailing is gorgeous as well.

Since Sara is such a model of entrepreneurship and going after what you want, I asked her what her advice would be for all the other 15 Minute Goddesses out there:

“Always believe in yourself, have the courage to follow your dreams no matter how crazy they seem and don’t be afraid to take risks.  What does that really mean?  Well, it means go after what you want.  Take the risk, fall down, get back up, learn from your mistakes and keep marching forward.  And believe me, you will fall down, so don’t let that stop you.  Trust yourself to know that you will get back up.  Eventually, you will have grown and succeeded beyond your wildest dreams.”
