5 Ways to Wear… A Denim Shirt

As we all know, denim on denim is a huge trend right now. How long it’ll be around? Only time can tell, but for now, denim shirts are the perfectly versatile piece for summer and fall.

I’ve heard so many people say they’ve been spending an arm and a leg on the perfect denim shirt. I say DON’T! There are so many great denim shirts out there for less than $100, and I’m going to help you find them and show you some outfits that will leave you looking and feeling like a goddess for any occasion.

Just Your Average Goddess

Topshop Denim Shirt, Piperlime Clogs, Urban Outfitters Necklace, Nordstrom Leggings, Old Navy Tank Top, Michael Kors Watch

This outfit is casual, but still has edge. It pulls some of the hottest trends of the summer, too: clogs, denim shirts, and tribal beads. Perfect for running even the most boring errands and still looking like a fashion goddess!

Beach Goddess

She wore an itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka dot bikini… With a denim shirt, you’ll be a full blown beach goddess. Doesn’t this outfit just make you want to skip work, make cocktails, and adventure to the beach?

“I’m Totally Dating a Goddess”

Madewell Denim Shirt, Forever21 Dress, Vasanti USA Lipstick, ASOS Bangles, Loris Shoes Wedges

Watch your latest boytoy’s jaw drop as he sees you in this outfit. Short black dress? Check. Bombshell red lipstick? Check. Long legs in high heels? Check. Denim button-up that kinda reminds him of when you wake up and put on one of his button-up shirts and stroll around the house half-dressed? Check. What else can you ask for in one outfit?

Countryside Goddess

Miss Selfridge Denim Shirt, Piperlime Wedges, Forever21 Crochet Skirt, Forever21 Necklace, ASOS Aviators, Miss Selfridge Clutch

This outfit just makes me want to run through a meadow and take sepia-toned pictures. Or maybe hop into a vintage convertible and drive through the countryside. An effortless way to look put together over the weekend, whether at a cafe with friends or wandering through a flea market.

Gym Goddess

Gap Chambray Shirt, TopShop Cropped Tank Top, Arden B. Necklace, BCBG Max Azaria Sandals, Miss Selfridge Shorts

Am I the only one who’s a little intrigued by this whole wearing-sweatpants-in-real-life thing? I’ve seen some great inspiration from my favorite bloggers (Le Flassh’s take on sweatpants), so why not experiment? Don’t feel like going home after the gym? Just throw this on, and you’ll be ready to go continue on with your day (warning: you may be a little smelly if you try this).

What do you think?

Are you going to be wearing denim on denim this summer? How do you wear your denim shirt? If you don’t have one, are you considering buying one? Let us know in a comment!

  1. I love these outfits especially the “i’m dating a goddess” one. My personal favorite is matching denim with leather, though not so much for the summer.

  2. @Sarah – I can’t believe that was only $5! Wow! It’s so cute. Great outfit.

@Mel – Thank you for your sweet comment! I love denim and leather too, but unless you find a great pair of leather shorts (which are so on-trend right now, and can be worn into fall), leather is definitely not an August pick, especially with the heat in NY right now!

  3. I love the first one, “Average Goddess”. It’s so casual and summery yet perfect as it turns to fall! And the completely adorable clogs don’t hurt either :)

  4. That cute skirt from the ‘country goddess’ one isn’t there! I clicked on the link and couldn’t find it. :(
    Love the ideas though. :)

  5. @Maya – Just because you smell doesn’t mean you can’t look great while offending people with your odor!

@Mika – We’re both loving clogs right now! Thanks for the comment.

@Nicole – I’m so sorry about that! They must have moved the item since I posted it. I’m going to look around the site and see if I can find it for you.

@Lori – You should be a goddess every time of day, whether it’s at the gym or out for drinks or in your bed. It’s all about feeling good while looking fabulous.
